Kitchen Display System (KDS): Order Card

The Kitchen Display System helps chefs and kitchen staff efficiently manage and prepare orders. Each incoming order is displayed as a detailed card containing all relevant information for food preparation.

Order Card Details

Order Type & Status:Displays whether the order is for Delivery or Pickup. Shows current status (e.g., confirmed).
Order Timing & Priority:Red alert message shows order age and flags urgency (e.g., “6674 min ago – URGENT!”).
Order Items:Lists all dishes to be prepared with quantities (e.g., 1x Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl, 1x Kids Breakfast Plate).
Order Notes:Special instructions, customer info, and discounts (e.g., Manual Discount: 25%).
Chef Assignment:Dropdown to select and assign a chef responsible for preparing this order.
Preparation Action:Press the Start Preparing button when ready to begin making the order. This updates the order status and workflow.

Panel Controls (Top)

Active/History Toggle:Switch between active and completed (history) orders.
Auto Refresh:Ensures the latest orders appear in real time.
Sound Alerts:Enable/disable audible notifications for new or urgent orders.
Pause Auto Refresh:Temporarily stop the live order feed if needed.

Pro Tip: Focus on the urgency notifications and assign chefs quickly for best kitchen efficiency. Use the notes for dietary preferences, allergies, or special prep instructions.

Menu Management

Manage all your restaurant’s menu items in one convenient place. The Menu Management screen allows you to add new dishes, organize existing ones, categorize your offerings, and update availability in real time.

Key Features

Category Tabs:Instantly filter menu items by categories like Appetizers, Chef Specials, Soups, Salads, Main Course, Sides, Beverages, Vegan Food, Asian Menu, Meat Dishes, Desserts, and more. Click "All" to view every menu item at once.
Add Item Button: In the upper right, use the Add Item button to quickly add a new dish to your menu.

Item Cards

Each menu item is presented as a card showing:

Image: A photo of the dish.
Name and Category: The dish name and its assigned menu section (e.g., Kids' Menu, Desserts).
Description:A short summary or key ingredients for the item.
Serving Info: (e.g., Serves 1 person)
Price:The current list price.
Prep Time: How long it takes to prepare (e.g., 20 mins, 30 mins).
Availability Indicator: Shows if the item is currently available.
Edit & Delete: Use the pencil icon to edit item details or the trashcan to remove the item.
